Happy New Year! I wish you all an evening full of fun, laughs, love and lots of kisses at midnight!
Unless you are spending your New Year’s Eve at home (which was one of my plans – so I am NOT knocking it!) you are thinking about what to do with your make-up and hair! Hair is really not my speciality so I will only be including the hair style that I will be donning.
MAKE-UP
I have made 5 different looks; Gold Goddess, Cobalt Dream, Whiteout, Sizzling Red& Smoke Show. I think my favourite is Gold Goddess or Cobalt Dream. I actually sent the picture of Jennifer Hudson to my best friend Ana this morning because I think she would look amazing with makeup like this – she REALLY suits blue!
As much as I LOVE a red lip I will NOT be wearing one tonight, I want to have fun and not worry about the lipstick transferring to my hostess’ glasses or my date’s lips at midnight.
HAIR
For my hair I will be recreating Khloe Kardashian’s starry look below. To recreate this I hit up my local craft store and got a spool of gold garland. The garland is not the exact same as the one that Khloe used but it was good enough for me.
STEPS:
1. To start I braided my pre-straightened hair into 4 braids and slept in them (I know this is a little last minute for you to do for tonight but just a little texture is all you need!)
2. Part your hair in the middle – it does not need to be (& should not) perfect. This is a tousled look, not a perfectly slicked one.
3. Pull back the front pieces and wrap the garland around the section about 2-3 inches from your part and continue to wrap the garland around the section of hair.
4. Use bobby pins to secure the garland/hair twists at the back of your head. To add a little more glitz you can wrap some garland around the secured sections as Khloe has.
5. Take lots of selfies because you’re done & I bet you look fab!

Lots of Love,

I love this look! it is so pretty - you look like an angel
ReplyDeleteThank you!!! My girlfriend also said that. I was thinking more star princess but I'll happily take angel! Xo
DeleteI have to be bluntly honest considering I am a colour tech- this red does not suit you at all. Your complexion is too pale to pull of red hair. You are better suited for a dirty blonde. (please don't take offense) Cheers!!
ReplyDeleteI have to be bluntly honest.. Your hair looks A-M-A-Z-I-N-G this colour! I would take the above comment with a grain of salt. Cheers!
DeleteWhoaaa someone is a Debbie Downer! This hair color is great...& when I read your post I didn't notice you asking for opinions! Chalk it up to one "color tech" being a downer
DeleteThanks for the compliment Vicki but I really don't want anyone to not be entitled to an opinion. Do I wish that everyone loved everything about me? Of course! But Debbie is entitled to her opinion, even if the whole world disagrees. Positivity only :)
DeleteThe closer you go to your natural colour the better~

DeleteThanks Katie. I like it too :) & I def took the above comment with a grain of salt. Especially considering it's the first negative comment I've had about this colour! Xo
DeleteKatie needs a chill pill and a some more creativity with the reply. As for Chantilly, if you like your hair and you're confident then yes, you should take my opinion with a grain of salt (as I wasn't trying to offend you or in this case Katie)

I don't think Katie needs a chill pill. Just like you she's stating her opinion. You didn't offend me (I don't know you for your opinion to be one that offends me) & I doubt you offended Katie. I think she just disagrees with you & that should be ok.
DeleteHave a good one Debbie. Let's keep it positive.
Nope not offended :)
ReplyDeleteThat makes both of us :)
DeleteSounds good ladies! Cheers :)
DeleteI just had to comment again to tell you I love your hair, showed a bunch of my friends they love it too.
ReplyDeleteDo you & stay beautiful - because you really are! I love your makup
Thank you Vicki! You are beyond sweet
