A few
weeks ago one of my co-workers told me I should dye my hair red. I kinda
brushed it off by saying “red fades, it’s high maintenance & it’s hard to
cover later on”, and scheduled an appointment with my close friend (&
stylist) to touch up my roots. As my appointment neared I started thinking “why
the hell can’t I go red?!” and set off looking for some red inspiration which I found in Christina Hendricks and Jessica Rabbit. (ya I like my red heads curvy!)
I think the end results are fabulous (if I do say so myself!).

It's true what they say: the right hair color should complement your complexion and enhance your overall appearance!!!! This is so you. It clearly looks like you didn't choose this color just because it looked good on someone else. You made an informed decision and the results are astonishing. This hair color really suits your skin tone.
ReplyDeleteThank you Nicole! That is so sweet! I did try to make an informed decision but I have to admit I did use the fact it looked good on others as a jump off point. XO
DeleteI'm sorry Chantilly, but I have to disagree with this colour complementing your complexion. Unless you pound on tons of make-up, your skin is on the pale side and better suited for lighter colours. This red makes your face look paler. I can see from your eyebrows and eye colour that blonde would be a better fit. Not platinum, but more ashy, dirty blonde. Hope this helps. I was also a red once or twice. It does fade, which is not a bad thing if you are considering change. Also when co-workers make suggestions like this, take it with a grain of salt and seek professional help.
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie! I definitely appreciate your comment and opinion but i was I was looking for a change & I am happy with the results. I've gotten quite a few compliments & did speak to my hair stylist prior to making the change. But nonetheless the most important thing is that I like it & I do. :)
DeleteI apologize if I offended you Chantilly, and you're right about one thing... it is important that you like it! Maybe try a little blush to compliment the hair and try a revlon colour ball (find at most salons) for the fading :) It's actually a conditioner so it won't damage your hair, but it'll keep the colour looking fresh.
DeleteSincerely, Debbie
All that matters is that you like it! But I have to add that I love it!
DeleteAlso have to add - most natural red heads are pale... sooooooooooo it kinda makes more sense for a pale person to go red than a tan person.
DeleteI was under that impression as well! I do love it also. My girlfriend told me she thinks it has brought my sexy back so I guess that shows how much I like it although it's always nice to hear someone have such nice things to say

Nope, no offence taken - I know what I like and if others don't it doesn't bug me. I do my hair for me. I will def look into the colour ball. When you make your next blog post leave a link in my comments so I can read it - don't worry I only leave positive comments.
DeleteTHIS post made me want to go red! You look gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThank you doll! Do it! I am sure you will look beautiful!
DeleteRevlon Professional Nutri Color Crème 600 Fire Red is a colour treatment designed to maintain bright red hair colour. Shampooing can accelerate the loss of colour intensity (plus environmental factors such as UV rays, can lead to the disappointment of your vibrant hair colour quickly fading.) Hope this helps Chantilly.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Thanks for the info Debbie
